decomail.space is an archival site for decome (デコメ), short for decomail/decoration mail. these animated emojis were used in emails, personal blogs (ameblo.jp, fc2.com, etc) and other online spaces in the 2000s-early 2010s in japan. today it's used in rentrys/anything adjecent, tumblr, artfight and many more!

as of 2026, the largest archival site is emojibank, which requires japanese keywords, has sexually explicit content, hard to read results, and requires a login and daily visits to download with no inspect element. my goal is to make a piece of old internet history accessible to everyone.
